Check-Up

Caleb had his 18-month check-up today. He is doing great! He hasn't had any asthma episodes for a couple of months now, so we are able to stop his treatments for now. When he gets a cold again, we'll watch and see how his body responds.

He's finally in the 20% on weight. He's been in the 10% for quite some time now. The kid eats all the time, but he's extremely active, so I guess he burns it all off. :-) He weighs 23.4 pounds and is 32 1/2" tall.

Caleb's vocabulary is very good for his age. He's starting to put together two and three word phrases, like "bye bye Daddy (and anyone else)," "apple juice," and "mommy shoe."

He got an Elmo sticker while we were at the doctor's office, so he was happy! He said, "Melmo keeker" all the way home, mostly because he kept dropping it and wanting me to find it.

I need to ask my mother-in-law about Justin's behavior when he was this age. My family is blaming me for all of Caleb's antics (climbing on everything, talking non-stop, having a temper), so I need to find out if his daddy was a stinker, too. :-)

He's a Growing!

Caleb is 18 months old today! I can hardly believe he's getting so big (literally!).

I can't keep up with the words he can say anymore; there are just too many to count. Today he started saying "apple juice," and he's very proud of himself. He says it ALL.THE.TIME. Whether or not he actually wants the stuff.

He also recently learned most of the Sesame Street characters. He always says them in the same order: Elmo (melmo), Big Bird, Ernie (uh-nee), Bert, Cookie Monster (cookie ker), Oscar (cocker), and sometimes Grover (I can't spell how he says it...it's not very intelligible yet). He wants you to repeat them after he says them, and we go over and over and over this during the day. :-)
