All Better

Thanks so much for your concern and prayers for Caleb. He is feeling much better these days and finally sleeping better as well. He had some sort of virus that finally left; we are so glad it didn't drag on for a long time.

As far as I can tell he has about 4 teeth that are trying to come in. They are being very stubborn! He only has two teeth and will be a year old in just a few weeks. Come on, teeth!!

We also bought his first pair of shoes yesterday since he's started walking. He wears a size 4w. When I had my ultrasound, the technician told me that I'd have to shop at Stride Rite because Caleb had big, wide feet. She was right. Looks like he's taking after his daddy's brothers with his big feet. Now if he'll only get his height from his daddy's side of the family, we'll be in good shape! :-)

First Sick Visit

I had to take Caleb to the doctor today because he started feeling a lot worse. His fever went from 101.6 to 102.7 and when we reached the doctor's office it was 104.2. The doctor checked him out and couldn't find anything wrong. His ears are fine, his throat is fine, his lungs are fine. All the usual places that bacteria hides look fine.

Needless to say, he's not feeling so good. I've said here before that he never stops moving and he hasn't wanted to be held and rocked since he was about 2 months old, so when he let me hold him for about 20 minutes this morning and then the entire time at the doctor's office laid with his head on my shoulder, I knew something was wrong.

What, though, I just don't know.

Please, Lord, heal Caleb's little body. Help him to get the rest he needs to fight this bug. Comfort him when he doesn't know why he's hurting. Thank You for protecting him thusfar from any real sicknesses.

And He's Off...

Caleb is finally walking. It's hard to get a very good picture yet because he's still pretty wobbly. As you can see, he's been into lots of things lately!

He hasn't been feeling well the last few days. He's been running a fever and has been extremely fussy. The last two nights he's been up every two hours. I think he's teething, but it is taking forever for these teeth to come in. He only has the bottom two right now. Hopefully a few others will break the surface soon and we can all get some sleep! 

Almost Walking

Caleb is walking some. He has finally gotten brave enough to let go of the furniture and take a few steps. He usually gets to going too fast or gets excited and falls down. But we're almost there! The kid can crawl seriously fast, though...every time I turn around he's in another room! (Reason #543 why I'm not getting the mother of the year award)

Caleb's Uncle Scott is coming to stay with us for a while (and is even babysitting tomorrow night so hubby and I can go out to eat for our anniversary...although I don't think we gave him much of a choice!) 

New Mexico Trip

These are some pictures from our trip to New Mexico. We had so much fun with Caleb's Mimi and Grandad! These pictures were taken when we went to Bandelier National Monument. Caleb was tired, but such a trooper! We love to visit hubby's parents in Northern New Mexico and always wish we could spend more time with them.

Family

I haven't had time to upload the pictures from our trip to New Mexico, but I hope to get that done this week. Caleb and I are at my parent's house helping out...Caleb is keeping everyone's spirits up and I'm helping with laundry, dishes, and moral support. My grandmother is still in the hospital recovering from her hip replacement surgery and my dad is having surgery tomorrow morning. Things have been pretty stressful and hectic around here lately. We've been going to the hospital in between nap times and trying to get the house ready for Nana's return home in between that. She is supposed to come home on Tuesday, but she is not progressing as quickly as they'd like so we are not sure that's going to happen. She cannot flex her right foot at all due to a pinched nerve around her knee. It's frustratingly slow progress for her. She said it's the worst thing when your mind is willing & able and your body is not.

Exhaustion is felt by all here, which probably won't improve much in the next couple of days as Nana returns home and Dad begins to recover.

We would be honored if you would lift up a prayer to our Heavenly Father for healing, peace, and rest for Dad and Nana.
