Happy Halloween!

Caleb had fun being Tigger for Halloween. He didn't really understand what we were doing and kept wanting to walk inside our neighbor's houses...didn't really get that we were just going to the door to collect candy. But he caught on pretty fast. He was tired by the time we went to a few houses since he's not used to the Daylight Savings time yet, so we came home and put him to bed. Now Mom and Dad have a stash of candy to eat (like we need it!). One of our neighbors did give him some cookies he can eat, though!

Isn't he just the cutest Tigger you ever did see? (or am I just biased?) Posted by Picasa

The Organizer

I dumped out all my markers and pens from their container because I wanted to use it in the kitchen. Here's my little organizer at work:

Sleeping Machine

Well, it seems Caleb is really enjoying all this sleep he's getting. He's been taking 2 2-hour naps during the day AND sleeping all night. He's catching up from the time before he turned one when he maybe took 2 1-hour naps and woke up 3-4 times a night.

Right now I'm waiting on him to wake up from his nap so we can go to the gym and I can finally lose some weight. But I can't bring myself to wake him up. Decisions, decisions.

I don't know what to do with all this sleeping! :-) (Oh, wait, yes I do. GET STUFF DONE!!)

Turned a Corner

It seems we have finally turned a corner with the sleep thing. Caleb is sleeping all night, no interruptions. It only took a year, but we finally made it!

Family

Caleb is just about over his cold. It's lasted the whole 14-day cycle. Just a little wheezing and coughing left, but it's definitely better than it was.

This past weekend we took a road trip to see hubby's family in north Texas; his cousin got married recently and they had a reception on Saturday. It was great to be able to see hubby's grandmother, who lives about 10 hours from us.

A Cold

Caleb's got a cold. Runny nose, sneezing, coughing...the works. Yuck. The virus apparently spread to his eye as well and now he's got a mild pink-eye thing going on. Great. And, I think he gave it to me. My eyes have been burning and itching and watering all day.

Gotta love sharing the germs!

On a happier note, he slept all night last night. Didn't wake up until 7:15am. YAY!!! (we're almost totally weaned from breastfeeding now, too...down to once a day. I'm not quite ready to give up the last feed, though. More than one season is changing around here.)

Word Meme

GiBee tagged me for this word meme. She chose the words and I have to tell my meanings for them.

Here are my words and their meanings:

serendipity: I don't believe in serendipity (happening upon things by accident, good fortune, or luck)...I believe God has a hand in our everyday lives and has known our every thought and action since before we were born. We may think they are accidents or coincidences, but really, He knew it all along.

fandango: Of course I think of this great website: fandango.com. I use it to find movies I want to see and to find out if they are showing near me. I occasionally use it to buy the tickets as well. I used it once to spend the afternoon with my mother-in-law at a chick flick starring Julia Roberts and it wasn't any good (I can't remember the movie right now).

cracked: danger to my son! Caleb recently found a bowl I had on a bookshelf that was cracked and could have hurt himself if I hadn't heard the loud "crash" it made when it fell off the shelf.

ice cream: my biggest weakness. *sigh* Hubs wouldn't let me buy any last night at the grocery store. Probably best.

I'm tagging my sister and anyone else who wants to play along.

Your words are: battery, helper, special, serve

Sleep Habits

Almost every night last week Caleb slept (mostly) through the night and didn't wake up until around 8am. Saturday morning, when I was at a conference and hubby was on Daddy Duty, Caleb had to be awakened at 9am because, really, no one needs to sleep that long! This is from a child who, for the last year or so, has slept no later than 7:30 ever and usually wakes up between 6:45 and 7:00. I was able to get so much done before he got up; it was wonderful! Looks like we're in for a good change in this second year.

But, alas, it was not to be. Yesterday morning he woke up at 6:20 for the day. Grrr. Today, though, he slept until 7:45, which is wonderful in my book. He's doing better about not waking up at night, but he's a very light sleeper. Most of the time lately he just cries a little bit and goes back to sleep on his own, but there are times where he needs to be consoled.

I'm ready to sleep all the way through the night on a regular basis! :-)
